DC’s Death of Superman Anniversary and WildC.A.T.s Lead New Releases

The Death of Superman celebrates its 30th Anniversary while WildC.A.T.s and other titles debut from DC Comics.

Out on Tuesday is The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Special #1, an anthology one-shot that brings readers back to when Superman died fighting Doomsday in 1992. The creators responsible for «The Death of Superman» return to tell four new stories, featuring the work of Dan Jurgens, Brett Breeding, Roger Stern, Butch Guice, Louise Simonson, Jon Bogdanove, Jerry Ordway, Tom Grummett and more. Along with stories focusing on Ma and Pa Kent, the Guardian and Steel, one will introduce a new Doomsday-like villain, Doombreaker, which Superman and his son, Jon Kent, will have to face together.

«The Death of Superman» is not the only 30th Anniversary that DC is celebrating in November, however. Ahead of the Wildstorm 30th Anniversary Special one-shot out later in the month, a new WildC.A.T.s title debuts this week from writer Matthew Rosenberg and artist Stephen Segovia. WildC.A.T.s spins out of «The Long Con» story told across Batman: Urban Legends #1 through #5, and will be a limited series reuniting the team under the leadership of Cole Cash aka Grifter.

The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Special and WildC.A.T.s #1 are just two issues among a number of new releases from DC. Out as well is The New Golden Age #1, a one-shot that launches two new series: Justice Society of America and Stargirl: The Lost Children. Readers can also pick up the penultimate issues of Superman: Son of Kal-El and Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, along with the finale of Multiversity: Teen Justice.
